Is the Hass avocado the trendiest fruit in the U.S. because of its buttery consistency, subtle, nutty flavor or its yellow-green color? In a word, yes. And it’s not at all surprising — this delicious fruit is popular on salads and sandwiches, pureed for excellent guacamole and, as we all know, it’s totally epic on toast. Del Monte® Avocados are a variety of delicious avocados including the popular Hass, Organic, the smaller Petit (so cute!) and the Oddvocado. Find your favorite and enjoy!

how to Select

Color and feel are strong indicators of where the avocado is in the ripening stage. If you want an avocado that's ripe and ready to eat, look for a darker green color and a fruit that's slightly firm but yields to gentle pressure. If you'd like to eat the fruit later in the week, pick out a hard, brighter green avocado that will continue to ripen. Avoid fruit with dark blemishes or an over-soft texture.

how to pRepaRe

Cut the avocado lengthwise around the seed. Twist and rotate both halves to separate. Remove the seed using a spoon.

how to StoRe

Unripe avocados should be stored at room temperature. Ripe avocados can be stored in the refrigerator for a couple of days.
